Job Title: Director of Marketing & Communications

GIS seeks a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing & Communications to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy that enhances the school’s reputation, increases enrollment, and strengthens community engagement. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller, brand strategist, and data-driven marketer who can effectively communicate the school’s mission, values, and programs to internal and external audiences. This is a 0.8 FTE position with a salary range of $65,000-$70,000.

Key Responsibilities: 

Marketing and Branding - Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to drive enrollment and retention.

Communications & Public Relations - Develop and execute a comprehensive communications plan, ensuring clear, consistent messaging across all channels.

Digital & Social Media Management - Track digital marketing performance metrics and implement improvements as needed.

Event Promotion & Community Engagement - Develop marketing strategies to support school events, open houses, and fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.

Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Strong knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, social media management, and website maintenance.

Experience using marketing analytics to measure and improve effectiveness.

Proficiency with design and content creation tools 

Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, staff, parents, and external partners.

Passion for education and an understanding of independent school culture.
