German & Chinese Classes

GIS offers German and Chinese Teen & Middle School classes so students can continue their language education.

German Teen Class 

DSDI

Fall Term: 9/9/25 - 1/27/26; No class: 11/11, 11/25, 12/23, & 12/30/25

Tuesdays from 4:30-5:45 p.m. with extension course from 5:45-6:15 p.m. 

Cost: $375.00

DSDI Test Date: TBD, in March -  registered by Dec 2 

Students must enroll in both, Fall and Spring term, in order to take the test. Spring term registrations will be shared in early 2026. A testing fee of $110 applies and will be billed once testees are confirmed.

DSDII

Fall Term:9/3/25 - 1/7/26; No class: 11/26, 12/24, 1/31/25; 

Wednesdays from 5:15-6:45 p.m., Extension course: 6:45pm-7:15pm

Cost:  $595.00 (Extension Course $185.00 / Testing Fee $110.00)

Written test date: November 19, 2025 | Oral test date: TBA. Must be registered by September 5

For high schoolers age 14-18 who love to argue or who would like to learn to speak better German! Jugend debattiert provides a fun way to explore the vocabulary and step-by-step practices that give students the confidence to talk about their ideas and opinions.

This class is strongly recommended for anyone planning to take the Deutsches Sprachdiplom II (advanced German exam) in the fall, but also open to anyone who likes teamwork and competition. Check out this video about the program.

Chinese Teen Class

Annual Term: Sept 9, 2025 - June 11, 2026 (36 weeks)

No class: 11/6, 11/11, 11/25, 11/27, 12/23, 12/25, 12/30, 1/1, 2/17, 3/24, 3/26, 4/23/26

Class will be held on Tuesdays in person and Thursdays online from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Cost: $1,950.00
