Extended Programs Coordinator

Position: Extended Programs Coordinator 

Status: Full-Time /Exempt/Year-Round 

Reports To: Assistant Head of School

Position description:

We are seeking an applicant who believes in our mission statement and is passionate about creating dynamic learning experiences and care outside of the school day! The Extended Programs Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the after-school program, in-service days and breaks, after-school clubs and summer camp.

Areas of responsibility:

Extended-Care (EC) Program

• Ensures the quality of the program on a day-to-day basis and reviews program curriculum

• Ensures compliance with state licensing requirements for EC programs, including but not limited to accurate attendance, ratios, preparation of snacks and meals, and overall health and safety. Staff requirements and training

• Provide supervision, activities, and guidance appropriate to students’ age and development

• Serves as the afternoon contact between the school and parents

• Supervise and manage the staff and schedules of all EC classrooms

• Coordinates with school day Directors on crossover staff management

• Coordinates with the Business Office to ensure accurate billing for Extended-Care Program

After-School Enrichment Programs/ Other Extended Programs

• Research mission-appropriate after school enrichment programs to introduce to the school community • Ensures that after-school enrichment programs represent a range of students’ interests

• Maintain accurate documentation for outside partnerships according to school procedures with facility usage

• Helps oversee and is the point of contact between programs such as adult/ teen classes and the school

• Produce and communicate the program overview including program description, schedule and price • Evaluate programs, activities and community interests annually

• Coordinates with the Business Office to ensure accurate billing for all After-School Programs

Summer Camp Program

• Oversees all preparations for the summer camp program planning

• Works with Marketing Department to develop a plans for recruiting campers

• Manages summer camp enrollment and budget

• Prepares teacher and staff schedules as well as coordinates substitutes as needed

• Manages the day-to-day functions of camp life

• Arrange and plan camp field trips and transportation

• Serves as a contact and information provider between the school and parents

• Works to ensure a positive experience for all campers

• Coordinates with the Business Office to ensure accurate billing for Summer Camp Program

General duties:

• Works directly with HR for recruiting needs, hiring, training and scheduling of extended programs staff.

• Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school’s handbooks

• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions in regards to safety and security in protecting students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities

• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the children and the program

• Develops and manages budget for all Extended Programs

• Vigorously engages in his/her own professional development

• Collaborates with the School Directors and Business office teams

Preferred qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required

• Five year’s prior experience in leading Extended Care Programming

• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking in English

• German/ Mandarin language skills a plus

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and managerial skills.

• Excellent attendance and punctuality records

• Ability to assume multifaceted roles and to multitask in a fast-paced work environment

• Warmth, high energy, collaborative spirit, emotional intelligence and sense of humor a must • Maintain up to date certifications as needed for the position

• Teacher qualified from 2s through middle school

Working Conditions:

• 40 hours per week; year-round position.

(Academic year hours generally 10-6pm/ Summer Camp, Inservice and Thanksgiving/Spring Break hours 7:30-3:30pm)

• Must have the flexibility to accommodate some early morning, evening and/or weekend work, as

required

• School holidays, vacation days and a health benefit package •Salary range $48000-55000 commensurate with experience
