Jane Münch

I lead a kindergarten classroom in the German immersion track at GIS. I was born and raised in Germany and, at the age of 20, moved to Hong Kong to pursue higher education. I lived and worked in Hong Kong for five years before I moved to Beijing, China, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Chinese Literature and Economics. This is where I saw first hand how effective immersion learning can be. My family and I traveled throughout China and Germany before settling in Portland. From 2014 to 2016 I worked for the German Sophie Scholl Schule where I focused on German immersion instruction for early learners. Sophie Scholl is where I found my true passion for teaching and I have grown in the field of German instruction and early childhood education ever since. 

In the summer of 2019 I started my career at GIS as a classroom assistant and quickly worked my way up to classroom lead teacher. I speak German, English and Mandarin fluently. I strive to continuously further my education, and am currently enrolled in an accredited Early Childhood Education program at Portland State University.
