Miriam Broersma

I was born and raised in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany, and worked for 13 years as a reporter and columnist for two local newspapers. In 2012 I graduated with a Master of Education and taught first and second grade at an elementary school in Germany until I moved to Utah in 2015. I taught a combined third and fourth grade class at a K-8 charter school in Utah for four years. On our several trips to Portland my husband and I fell in love with the city and decided to move here.   

When I am not in school, I like spending my free time with my husband and my stepson, reading, writing and publishing books, traveling, painting, and horseback riding.
