Pei Chen

I was born and raised in Taiwan. I graduated from Fu-Jen University in Taiwan with a Bachelor of music degree and music education degree. In 2008, I received my Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from San Francisco State University. Before coming to the U.S., I was a school music teacher in Taiwan for several years and also a clarinet performer. I began my teaching career as a private music teacher and soon realized that working with children was what I was meant to do. I am constantly learning from my students. Their creative ideas and imaginations always give me a fresh thought and a big smile! I love to see how they come up with new ways of playing an instrument that I have never thought of before.

Music is part of our life. Music can calm our mind, relax us from a tense life and also can inspire kids’ brains. “Music language” is international. We can use the music language to meet different kinds of people and experience a variety of cultures in the world!

In my spare time, I love being with my two lovely girls, playing piano and clarinet, watching movies and hiking with my family.
