Suzan Weppler

My name is Suzan, and I was born and raised in Germany.

I enjoyed attending school for most of my childhood and still remember some of my teachers that greatly impacted my development. Having this positive experience, I decided to become a teacher myself. I went to the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and finished my Bachelor and Master degrees in Primary and Middle School education. I worked at several schools near and in Kaiserslautern, teaching 3rd – 10th grade. In 2018 I married my husband, who is a US citizen, and I moved to Iowa in 2020. Last year my husband was offered a new position in Portland. We relocated at the end of 2022, and I am very excited to get the chance to teach at a German school again.

In my free time, I love hiking, enjoying the outdoors, walking by the ocean, and exploring the beautiful nature in this area. I am looking forward to being part of the team of GIS.
